Ropeway

Cableway Teleférico de Mérida is located in the valley of the mountain range Cordillera de Merida. The road is 12.5 km long and stretches from the center of the city of Merida to the mountain peak Espejo. Construction Teleférico de Mérida was conducted for about 6 years and was completed in 1958. Since then, the place is very popular among tourists from all over the world. 

The cable car has four bays with three transportation termini. All the way lift is performed for 1 hour. Vertical drop of the trip is 3124 meters. To transport passengers there are two cabins, three ropes attached to a motor of 230 hp. Their movement on the rope is organized according to the principle of the pendulum. Cabs can accommodate a maximum of 45 persons. 

The road overlooks the peak of Bolivar and picturesque valleys. During the three stops travelers will be able to enjoy the beauty of mountain ecosystems state of Merida. Exciting looks forest, shrouded in a soft blanket of clouds, and the endless snow-covered mountain peaks shroud. 

Teleférico de Mérida is considered to be the highest mountain cable car in the world. Its height above sea level is 1639.5 m 

Personal transportation is virtually the only option where you can get to the place.
